Awareness is the key to change. I think we as americans are caught up in our day to day existence and lack the global awareness that citizens of other countries have. They are more aware because of necessity. Their lives are impacted by our foreign policy and corporate greed. Now we are in the midst of a depression (economic and psychological) as a country and our awareness is changing as a result. We need to accept what we have done and learn from that history. So we can change the future for all of us in the short term and for our children in the long term. We can change, we can fight city hall, we can effect change globally by being conscious about what we do locally and who we vote for nationally.
